MyPrecious Child,

Howbeautiful you are, My beloved! There is no flaw in you (Song of Solomon 4:7)!You are My perfect creation made in My image (Gen. 1:26). I have begun a goodwork in you that I promise you I will complete (Phil. 1:6). You are already completein Me (Col. 1:10). There is nothing you have to do to earn my love because Ihave loved you with an everlasting love. I have drawn you with lovingkindness(Jer. 31:3). My grace is sufficient for you (2 Cor. 12:9). My strength is madeperfect in your weakness (2 Cor. 12:9). I chose you (Eph. 1:4). I have acceptedyou just as you are because of My Son (Eph. 1:6). I have redeemed you, I haveforgiven you of all you have ever done or ever will do. Yes, even that one thatyou think is too big and too bad—I have forgiven (Eph. 1:7). You are myworkmanship and I have designed you just the way you are because I havespecific things I need you to do on this earth—things I planned before you wereborn (Eph. 2:10). Don’t be afraid because I am with you where you go (Josh.1:8). You are more than a conqueror (Rom. 8:37) and I have given you weapons toovercome anything that comes against you (2 Cor. 10:4-5). I haven’t given you aspirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind (2 Tim. 1:7)! Sostand firm (Eph. 6:14). Your sins are forgiven, you know Me, you have overcomethe wicked one, you are strong, and My word abides in you (1 Jn. 2:12-14).

Insight For Dads With Daughters

Working with young ladies over a decade has opened my eyes to the dad-daughter relationship. I have realized that my healthy relationship with my dad is something not every girl has and it breaks my heart to see that relationship suffer. It is from my close relationship with my dad and a heavy heart for those that don't have it that the Lord gave me the following writing. Dads, may it remind you how important you are in your daughter's life!

You Are My Dad

You are my dad…I am your baby girl…

From the earliest moments I can remember, you have been myhero.

I placed you on a pedestal where you could do no wrong in myeyes.

You would come home from work and sweep me off my feet…hugme, kiss me, twirl me around. You were happy to see me. And you told me youloved me.

You are my dad…I am your little girl…

Elementary school days you were my hero.

I’d look to see if you came to my game, my recital, my play,my big event.

I was important to you. I was your little girl. Yourprincess.

My eyes would catch yours and we would smile at each otherfor what felt like forever.

No matter the outcome of my game, my recital, my play…youwere always there to hug me and kiss me and tell me how proud you were. I knewI could always run into your arms and feel loved and secure.

You are my dad…you are my first date…

I put on my best dress and come down the stairs…

You are waiting for me and you tell me I am beautiful.

The night could have stopped right there and I’d be a happygirl

But you take me out, you open my door, you buy me dinner,you ask me about life

I know I am important to you and that you care about me

We laugh, you listen, you notice the little things about me

I will never forget that fist date…you have set the barhigh, Dad.

You are my dad…I am your girl…

Late elementary and early middle school I start to noticeother boys exist.

They start to catch my eye but none compare to you, Dad.

None of them look at me the way you do…that look that I amyours and you are proud of me.

That hug that tells me you will always protect me and keepme safe.

That kiss that says you love me because I’m your girl andfor no other reason than that.

You continue to be the main man, the only man of importancein my life

You set the bar high and no other boy can come close to howyou treat me, Dad

And I love it!

You are my dad…I am your teenage daughter…

You are still the only boy that holds my world in theirhands

But I don’t understand what is going on…

Is it something I said? Is it something I did? Or is it whoI’ve become?

I’m still that little girl inside that longs to be loved,hugged, kissed, and told how beautiful I am…but you don’t do that anymore.

I am growing up on the outside but I’m still a little girlon the inside…waiting for you to sweep me off my feet, hug me, kiss me, andtwirl me around. What happened?

Is it something I said? Is it something I did? Or is it whoI’ve become?

Every time you come into the room, I hope for that embracefrom my dad…to know that I am safe in your arms…that everything is going to beokay…but it doesn’t happen. Is it something I did? Is it something I said? Oris it who I’ve become?

There is a boy at school that says I am beautiful. He’sstarting to give me more hugs, more attention…more than you, Dad. My confidenceis turning into confusion…

I long for that hug, that kiss, those words that I am beautifuland he is giving it to me. But why is this boy giving it to me and not you,Dad? It’s nice I am still getting the love and attention but it doesn’t seem tobe as fulfilling as when you gave it to me, Dad. He can’t build the confidencein me like you can with your words, your hugs and your kisses. What happened? Isit something I did? Is it something I said? Or is it who I’ve become?

I come home and that boy is on my mind until I see you walkinto the room.

I’ve changed my hair and started wearing makeup. Ipurposefully walk over to you in hopes that you notice…I’m waiting for thewords…”You are beautiful!” But all I get is a cordial hello. What happened? Isit something I did? Is it something I said? Or is it who I’ve become?

As a little girl, I used to be so confident in your love forme…

Now I’m a young woman and no longer confident…

Am I really beautiful anymore?

Am I still a princess?

Am I worth your hugs and kisses?

What happened? Is it something I did? Is it something Isaid? Or is it who I’ve become?

You set the bar high, Dad, but I can’t remember why.

I can’t remember it has been so long…what standards did youcreate for which no other boy could compare?

Now I feel like any boy compares or even exceeds yourattention you give me.

They just have to look at me or tell me I’m pretty andthey’ve given me more attention than you.

I start to find my confidence again…but this time it’sconditional…

As long as I look beautiful to the boys, I am beautiful.

As long as I give the boys what they want, they will acceptme.

If I act in a certain way I know I will get attention.

It all seems nice for a while…but it’s not the same, Dad.

It’s conditional and I get tired of looking a certain way,acting a certain way and trying to please them with what I can give them.

I miss you, Dad. What happened? Is it something I did? Is itsomething I said? Or is it who I’ve become?

I miss the unconditional love. The everyday hugs. The “Ilove you” kisses. What happened? You gave me the unconditional love andattention as a girl but you stopped when I became a young woman.

That’s what happened. You thought I grew up.

You thought because I looked grown up that I was grown up.

No longer in need of your love and affirmation but now Ineed it more than ever, Dad!

I may look different on the outside but I am still thatlittle girl on the inside.

I still need your love, your hugs, your kisses…even morethan ever!

There are so many boys that want to give me conditional lovebut if I have your unconditional love I won’t need it.

I need you to set the bar high for me again, Dad.

Take me out and show me what a gentleman is. Remind me whatI am waiting for and tell me that I am worth waiting for.

I’m still your little girl and I still need you as my dad.

I need you as the main man in my life until the right mancomes along.

And even on my wedding day, I will look to you first to tellme how beautiful I look in my wedding dress and it’s with that confidence fromyou that I am beautiful that I will walk down that aisle with my hand tucked inyour arm and know that the main man in my life has set the bar high and I didnot settle. I waited until the right man came along and I can now be releasedfrom love and protection of my Dad into the love and protection of my husband.
